“Travel doesn’t only widen the mind: it gives it shape.” Bruce Chatwin

This charming building is situated on one of the branches of the Via Francigena, which Sigerico, Archbishop of Canterbury, walked between 990 and 994. The parish church was the XX stop (Mansio) of the English archbishop on his return trip from Rome back to England; the locality was called by him Sancte Maria Glan.

The friends of Sigerico’s Path are delighted to welcome you in the hostel housed in finely restored historical buildings, adjacent to the splendid church of “Santa Maria Assunta a Chianni”. Beside rooms with 4 or 5 beds, it is possible to spend the night in comfortable double rooms.
